La Nueva Victoria mixes Chinese and Latin flavors in a way that reflects the diverse palate of Harlem and the broader Upper West Side neighborhood. Located on Broadway, the restaurant leans into a Chino Latino style, offering dishes like everything fried rice with chicken cracklings and plantains alongside classics such as pork wonton soup and chicken with broccoli paired with their house special fried rice. It’s the kind of place where you can expect a hearty, textured meal rather than delicate or minimalist presentations.

The dining atmosphere is casual and lively, with a bit of background noise typical of a well-frequented neighborhood spot. This is a place where groups gather for informal celebrations or couples settle in for flavorful plates and an eclectic drink menu that includes various daiquiris and even a Henny Colada. Drinks tend to be sizeable and carefully crafted, making the bar a compelling draw alongside the food.

Given the menu and customer feedback, La Nueva Victoria works best for people interested in a blend of Chinese and Latin dishes, especially those who enjoy bold, hearty flavors and some fried comforts. The seafood options, like the broiled mussels or braised fish sole with buttery sauce, offer a more refined angle amid otherwise rustic fare. If you’re coming with friends or family, the varied menu can satisfy different cravings at once.

The portions are solid but not oversized, so those with bigger appetites might want to order a couple of dishes or focus on the hearty fried rice varieties. Service is straightforward and handles occasional unpredictable moments with poise, which speaks to a familiar, neighborhood feel rather than polished fine dining.

Early evening and weekend visits seem like good times to drop in—whether for dinner or a casual birthday bash—as the vibe supports relaxed gatherings and conversation despite some noise. While the setting isn’t quiet or upscale, it carries the warmth and diversity you’d expect from a local place navigating two strong culinary traditions under one roof.

The food and drinks were good, but the serving sizes aren't big enough for the price tag.

Chino Latino food is still alive in nyc and so I had to try it out. The braised fish sole was amazingly moist, my fork barely had to touch it as it sliced through. The buttery sauce goes well with the rice and the side salad helps as a palate cleanser. To top off the fish, it has some fried crunchy bits for texture added to the top that just works wonders! Going to try the steak next time!

Food was solid, not amazing, portion didn’t blow me out of the water. I wish the big drinks were a bit cheaper. A homeless man entered the establishment and tried to ask everyone in the restaurant for a dollar. The waiters were able to handle the situation pretty well and get the guy out. Well done to them, sesame chicken was on par.

Came here for my cousin's birthday. He is a frequent customer and said the food is OK, but he really comes for the drinks. Personally, I think they're equal. I had the Peking Buddha's Delight and my gf had the Lomo Saltado (I think). The Henny Colada (I forgot to take a pic) was hittin!

The food was good. The service was good. The place was a little noisy at times. I would definitely go back again.

For native NYers this is simply the BUTTA Spot! No other name or description needed. Don’t believe me, you can now Google “butta spot” and see what comes up. For those of us that “grew” here this is where you came back in the day for a great drink. Before nutcrackers were a thing and most definitely before Covid and drinks to-go were ever consider a legal option. One of those old-school spots that just hits. Nothing fancy, simple and clean… just good food and fast to the point service and the Butta drinks are always on point. This place just brings back such nostalgia. Now I must admit what is far from nostalgic is the “2025” Butta prices. After many years the prices were a shock upon my recent return. I remember when you could get a Butta for…. Nevermind I was about to date myself. LOL. Besides the Butta the wings are also still a must for me. Since I came mainly for the butta, I only grabbed wings. Of course even the food prices have seen an increase. Our server was funny and friendly, matching the restaurant's simple laid-back vibe. Just one of those places you have to return to because it brings back that touch of nostalgia that is sometimes needed with the passing of time. Just A Note: -They do offer some lunch specials before 3pm. -The drinks are a smidge… just a smidge cheaper if you dine in.

I met a friend at this restaurant for lunch. When I arrived I found parking on the street nearby. I walked in and was greeted and sat. We started with some drinks and I had the LIT and red wine which I enjoyed. For my meal, I had the lunch meal of the spicy shrimp, which was good. I just wish they had more shrimp. My friend had the shrimp and broccoli, which he liked. We enjoyed our time!
